Leave your iPod at Home.

Leave your iPod at Home
For real. We have so many brides and grooms say they have the best playlist, and that one of their groomsmen can just man their iPod. While this sounds like a great idea, allow us to be frank… it’s not. Save your iPod for your family holiday party, not your wedding. Announcements? You will likely have a large amount of guests. Perhaps 50, 150, or 250. Regardless of the final headcount, the group is a crowd. These folks need direction. They need someone to give announcements and intros in a classy manner. Not some obnoxious mic hog, and not someone too passive either. It’s an art. And, it’s necessary. You need an Emcee. When do we take our seats? When will we ever eat? When are we allowed to dance? And, what about that yummy looking cake? Music? Songs have to be manned and not by a rigid ‘arrow’. It’ll likely need to be mixed in. If a song goes stale on the dance floor, a DJ will notice quickly, and bring in another song without a guest’s notice. Or, do you prefer to have a bad song play out, or skip to another song awkwardly in silence? No thanks. Timeline? Believe it or not, there is a grandiose timeline for weddings. Sometimes changes need to happen to keep the food warm, guests excited, and the bride & groom happy! You don’t want to get home at the end of the night and think, wait, we didn’t do a first dance? You need someone to work hard managing the flow. DJs? We have the best. No really, we do. They get the art of speaking, the importance of keeping a dance floor full, and a timeline flowing. Venue rant? Don’t mind if we do. We’ve seen some phenomenal DJs and some that still stand as haunting nightmares- woof! Why do we care SO much that our brides and grooms have good DJs? Because it’s one of the main correlations with a guest’s experience. Good DJ=Good time, Bad DJ=Bad time. We’re in hospitality because we’re committed to your guests having a good experience. Now, invest in a GOOD DJ, it’s important. At Stonebridge, we include them in one of our packages!
