He Popped The Question!
This week is incredibly exciting because I just got engaged to the love of my life. If you’re reading this blog, I imagine you’re in a similar situation. Let me personally say to you, congratulations! I know I’ve been waiting for this moment for a very long time, and I imagine you have too.
My fiancée and I went to take some professional photos this past Saturday at Scottsdale Civic Center – the park in Scottsdale where the large red LOVE sign is. He took some headshots for his LinkedIn page, then I took some headshots for my LinkedIn page. Then we went to take pictures together and he said he wanted to change his shirt. He ran back over to our stuff and changed his shirt while I chatted with the photographer.
When he returned, we took a couple of pictures together sitting down. Suddenly, he stood up so I stood up also because I thought he just wanted a different pose or a different angle or something. Then he reached in his back pocket and pulled out a ring box, and it hit me! This is it: this is the moment I’ve been dreaming about since I was a little girl!
He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. By that point, I was already crying so hard I could only nod my head vehemently, and eventually I got my wits about me and said, “YES!” We got lovely photos of the whole proposal thanks to our wonderful photographer, Ariel Shamas.
The rest of the day was a wonderful and exciting blur telling everyone we love that we are going to get married! Then the gravity of the situation started to sink in: this process that I do for a living day after day is now going to be for my own wedding. I thought I’d share my planning experiences, successes, failures, frustrations, and revelations with all of you. Welcome to the “A Wedding Planner Plans Her Wedding” blog series.
I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I will enjoy writing it.
