It’s no secret that photography is a big deal…maybe even the biggest (besides the dress, oh and your fiancee!) Choosing the right photographer for you can be such a daunting task. Here are a few things to consider before you say “I do” to your photographer.

Style. You’re going to have your wedding photos for the rest of your life so it is imperative that you like the style that your photographer shoots! Are you more drawn to the moody, sultry photos that a portrait photographer captures, or are you in love with the candid, bright photos you can expect with a natural light photographer? Although photographers will capture the important moments, keep in mind that they all have their own style! Some photographers lean towards light, over exposed photos whereas others choose to edit with vivid colors and striking poses. Whatever the style, chances are your photographer has been in the biz for a while and will work with you to coordinate your ideas cohesively!
  2. Personality! This is the person (or team) that is going to be following your every move, trying to make you laugh, organizing your family for massive group photos, working with your Event Director to stay on timeline, being nearly invisible in the intimate moments. Be sure that you enjoy the photographer’s company enough to share your tears of joy and capture your laughter! Perhaps consider scheduling an engagement session with your actual wedding photographer to work out any kinks and adjust to each other. Another perk that comes with an engagement session, you’ll have special photos to send out in invites!
